  • Angeletti, Norberto, and Alberto Oliva. In Vogue: the illustrated history of the world's most famous fashion magazine. New York: Rizzoli, 2006. Print.
This is a good book that has to do with the fashion magazine vogue. Everything vogue is on this book one of the  biggest fashion magazine in the world. It touches everything you need to know in the history of fashion.

  • Cosgrave, Bronwyn. Sample: 100 fashion designers - 10 curators : cuttings from contemporary fashion. London: Phaidon, 2005. Print.
This book covered fashion designers that has given huge amount of impact. Out of all the designers that has made it Chanel was the only one that was there. It wasn’t the best but it was certainly fascinating won’t be the thing I will be using in History Day.

  • "Flapper Americana Novissima." American Decades Primary Sources. Ed. Cynthia Rose. Vol. 3: 1920-1929. Detroit: Gale, 2004. 388-390. Gale Virtual Reference Library. Web. 4 Feb. 2011.
This website gave good background about the whole flappers thing. It was an easy read and I really like how it was direct and to the point. I can use this in my history day as one of the sources for pictures because they have good pictures that I can definitely use if I ever think of making a website or exhibit.

  • Gaines, Ann. Coco Chanel . Philadelphia: Chelsea House, 2004. Print.
All the basics you need to learn about Chanel is on this book. I like how it was on a middle school reading book that it made it easy for me to read and get information quick and not have to be bogged down with too much words. Definitely got some quotations that I will use for Chanel’s part in my history day.

  • Garelick, Rhonda K.. Rising star: dandyism, gender, and performance in the fin de siècle. Princeton, N.J.: Princeton University Press, 1998. Print.
This literally helped me the whole time. Out of all my research things this was the most important one. This was one is where is the most I get all my research probably most of notes came from this book. I got this from the UW field trip and it was really good I like it because she did her research very well while she cited sources or where she got some of her ideas. It ha pictures and everything through the days of fashion.

  • Kybalová, Ludmila, Olga Herbenová, and Milena Lamarová. The pictorial encyclopedia of fashion, . Feltham: Hamlyn, 1968. Print.
It was like a picture book of fashion. It had captions but it wasn’t really that important so I didn’t bother to print some form UW but it was definitely worth look through it. The book was like a look book but fashion way before the 21st century which was fresh and nice.

Clothes, clothes, clothes this is all that I got but it had nothing to do with my topic. This website was probably one of the most difficult websites I had to go through it was hard to navigate and I didn’t like anything about it. Didn’t make things easier on me or I don’t even think I will be needing this for my final project. I didn’t get any good facts.

  • Plunkett, E. M. "Fashion Design." Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia. Grolier Online, 2011. Web. 27 Dec. 2010.
This was more on the fashion design of things more than the history of fashion. Gave facts about fashion itself not the history of what it is. It’s a good website but it’s not going to be a part of my history day.

"The 1920s: Education: People in the News." American Decades. Ed. Judith S. Baughman, et al. Vol. 3: 1920-1929. Detroit: Gale, 2001. Gale Virtual Reference Library. Web. 26 Dec 2010
A good historical background about the 20’s. From what was in and what was going on in the time. What was people doing the “it” things and anything that has to do with the 20’s. It was like a walk through the 20’s. Groiler has always been credible source.

  • "The 1920's - Roaring Twenties - The Nineteen Twenties in History." The 1920's - Roaring Twenties - The Nineteen Twenties in History. N.p., n.d. Web. 17 Feb. 2011. <http://www.1920-30.com/>.
This website is anything you need to know about the roaring 20’s, the credibility of this website is good because the facts keep on recurring and I like the fact that it was easy to navigate.

Thomas , Pauline Weston . "Flapper Fashion 1920s."
fashion-era.com. N.p., n.d. Web. 4 Feb. 2011. < http://www.fashion-era.com/flapper_fashion_1920s.htm>.

In this good fashion era of America this website touched on what America was going through the time of the flappers. I really like how it has good pictures about my topic. The change of the women fashion and what was the big different of what has now come.

  • Women's Fashion in the 1920s.eLibrary. Web. 27 Dec. 2010

  • Young, Agnes Brooks. Recurring cycles of fashion, 1760-1937, . New York and London: Harper & Bros., 1937. Print.
This gave a good timeline of the fashion and it’s history. I like how they have some good pictures and what women wore during the time. This book is so old that I really like it. It was printed in 1937 almost 74 years ago. Even more credible to me because it was happening during that time. I like that it was that old.

Primary

  • Coco Before Chanel. Dir. Anne Fontaine. Perf. Audrey Tautou, Benoît Poelvoorde. Sony Pictures Classics, 2009. DVD.
Since she was such a prominent designer during the time I felt the need to watch a movie about her life and what it was like. I enjoyed the movie well. I didn’t really take notes on the movie but when I was watching the movie I got the same facts that I got when I was doing my research.

  • Cosgrave, Bronwyn. Sample: 100 fashion designers - 10 curators : cuttings from contemporary fashion. London: Phaidon, 2005. Print.
This reading was a good basic background for my topic. Gave me designers that made and impact and when I did my research of the different fashion that made it in the 20th century was part of this book which I like because I got my research cut out for me.

  • White, Palmer. Elsa Schiaparelli: Empress of Paris Fashion. New York: Rizzoli, 1995
Elsa Schiaparelli is one of the many designers that made it possible for women to change the way they looked at outfits in the 20th century. Some of the pictures from this piece of reading I might use for my final project because it showed some of her amazing work. It was an helpful reading to me, helped me with my topic and broaden my research/outline paper. Definitely going to use some of the quotes are sections of this reading on my essay.
